(More customer reviews)One of the highlights of my son's Christmas this year was unwrapping the Lego City House, one of the best recent additions to the Lego City line. This incredibly detailed and very attractive set is the perfect companion piece to the LEGO City Corner (7641) set. It's a 3-level townhouse with a good-sized side yard and front porch. Inside you'll find a tiny sink, oven, table and chairs, couch, bed and computer desk. Outside there's a patio chair, mailbox, trash can, grill, and tree (with tree house). The set includes three minifigures (a mom, dad and skateboarding boy), plus the family dog.
Complexity - The set includes 383 pieces, and is designed for builders age 5 and up. Had it been any other day I would have encouraged my son to take on most of the assembly, but it was Christmas morning so I took over while my son played with the minifigures. It took about an hour from start to finish.
Playability - The sky is the limit with this set. You can create various domestic scenes inside the house, and the yard area is large enough to bring in additional minifigures. My only complaint is that despite its impressive height, there isn't much depth to the house. It's a sturdy set all-around, and is appropriate for a 5 year old who is reasonably careful with his/her toys. It's also a fairly gender-neutral set, which is nice.
This is a really terrific set overall, and a great addition to the Lego City line. It's an ideal starter set for younger builders, and one with plenty of potential for repeat playing.
