Wave 35 continues with Iron Man 2 two-pack featuring a Hammer Drone and the chase variant figure, Happy Hogan. The Hammer Drone is a weird figure; it technically shows up for about 30 seconds in the film, when Ivan Vanko sees and promptly rips the head off the drone. In other words, one of the army builder figures in this wave doesn't really do much in the movie. Nonetheless, it's a neat figure, done all in gray with bulky chest and crotch pieces, as well as big gauntlets and boots to make it more imposing. And it is; it towers over pretty much every other minimate. The head has a distinctly robotic look, and there are yellow and black "danger" stripes painted on the arms and torso. One look at this bad boy and even Iron Man would question whether he wants to battle it. It comes with no accessories, but since it has gatling guns sculpted into its gauntlets, it doesn't need any.
The second figure in the pack is Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's bodyguard/ chauffeur. It's the first sculpt for this particular character, as Happy was more of a background character in the first film. In Iron Man 2 he serves more as comic relief, and almost steals the show. The head sculpt doesn't really look like Jon Favreau, but that's no biggie. The figure itself is rather bland, dressed in a black suit, white shirt and black tie. The chest piece is removable, leaving an awkward looking ensemble of white shirt and black sleeves. He comes accessorized with boxing gloves, a pair of handcuffs and the portable armor briefcase. The boxing gloves are basically a waste, unless you plan on Happy sparring with Tony in his suit. The cuffs and briefcase are a nice touch, hearkening back to the corresponding scene in the movie. Just one nit; the hairpiece on mine is VERY loose, which means that at any given time, there's a bald Happy Hogan running around the Iron Man universe. It's fixable, but at this stage of the game, 35 waves in, you would figure Art Asylum would know how to sculpt hair pieces so that they can fit snugly.
Regardless of the little nits, the Hammer Drone is a fine figure and the Happy figure at this stage is pretty much a must-have to complete Tony Stark' circle of friends.
