(More customer reviews)This is not a double-bladed light saber like the one that Darth Maul used in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Instead, there is a normal-sized light saber and a mini light saber that can be attached end-end. The mini light saber can either be stored (hidden) inside the handle of the bigger one or inserted in the end of the handle with the blade extended to form a second blade. The normal-sized light saber is not as nice as the other ones we have: it only retracts about two-thirds of the way, not all the way; the blade does not extend at the push of a button, but has to be manually extended. The light effects are just as good though and the sound effects are actually a little better. The mini light-saber lights up but does not make any sound. The light tends to go out when it is inserted in the handle of the larger one to form a double-blade, I think because the button rubs up against the inside of the handle of the larger one. My son seems happy with it, despite it being different from the one Darth Maul used.
