(More customer reviews)My Bionicle-obsessed really wanted this guy for his extensive collection, but knew it wasn't in production anymore. He was thrilled that Mom worked magic once again. We indulge his Bionicle hobby because he needed the motor skills and concentration path. This line of products has helped fulfill that need, but also has opened his creativity. He takes parts from different Bionicles and creates new ones altogether. Yet he can put them back together just by looking at the label. I can't do that! He makes "movies" of this stuff with stories from his books and DVDs, but mostly from his imagination. I'd made the mistake of buying the miniature version of this Toa, being ignorant of the legend (silly me), but he unwittingly corrected me in time to buy the correct one for his birthday. He gave the smaller one to his 3 year old sister, who loves to build her own Bionicles...the mutated kind, of course.
This purchase was another purchase from Amazon's Marketplace Vendor The Bioniclist. This vendor is prompt and doesn't usually rake you over the coals in pricing. Yes, it is a bit more than what I'd pay at Target or TRU, but hey, these items are no longer available there. This vendor gets two thumbs up. BTW, this item arrived new, factory sealed as ordered.
If you aren't as familiar as your child is with the Bionicle lineup, be sure to have them choose what their wish list would be....exactly...before ordering. In this case, the word "Hordika" made a difference. And Nokama is different from Vakama (who also came from The Bioniclist).
