Let me start off by saying honey, do *not* buy these online for $25 plus shipping. It's a plastic box. I found these exact same Lego boxes at Walmart for $9, base plate included. The boxes themselves are Iris brand and are available at most craft stores for $5. This one's cute, though, since it's a pretty color and has the Lego guy's head on it.
To get on with the actual review - the box itself is fantastic. It's a nice wide size so you can fit a base plate and a whole mess of Legos in it, the top is hinged and clips in front and is secure but still easy enough for a kid to use. My son is seven and has no problem latching and unlatching this box. It's not particularly deep so tall creations in progress may not fit - Iris makes other deeper boxes that work great for this purpose. This hinged box fits inside of the deeper boxes, which is awesome for keeping things consolidated.
I can't really go on much more about it because it is just a plastic box, but it's durable and easy to use and it helps keep my childrens' Legos from being permanently scattered all over the floor. It's a good size for them, too, with a built-in handle for carrying. Get yourself one or three!
