(More customer reviews)Bought this for my kid brother for Christmas. He's 3 and 1/2. I helped him get it out of the box and watched him attempt to play with it. I thought the cars would LAUNCH. Isn't that the whole idea? The cars travelled listlessly about a foot or two - rather pathetic, if you ask me. I tried moving it from carpet, to tile, to linoleum hoping the correct surface would make it work properly. Then my older brother tried. He is a 32 year-old engineer. No improvement.
Also, it is important to know that the 'wheels' on these cars are detachable metal balls connecting to the cars by magnet. Translation: they fall off constantly, roll under things, etc. Since there are 3 cars with 4 wheels each, you do the math on the chasing around involved.
Finally, I should add here that I gave the item 2 stars instead of 1 because ultimately the toy was for my kid brother, and when I left my dad's house that evening he was playing with the Launcher, and for all appearances seemed to be a satisfied customer. Nevermind that my step-mom was rolling her eyes at the metal balls all over the place.
