If you are looking for a fun way to spend some time with your kids, this is the toy; with the bonus that you'll be teaching your kids some valuable lessons along the way. First, you have to scavenge for a few easy to find recyclables- I made it a little more fun by hiding them around the house and having the kids go on a "Recyclables Easter Egg Hunt." Once they had their goodies in hand, we set to building the PirateShip and the UberFo. I have 2 kids, so they each got to build a project (the UberFo is easier!) The UberFo was finished first and my daughter loved flying it around the house- it is essentially a frisbee but doesn't break lamps, etc... It flies fabulously with no danger to anything in the house as it just bounces off things when it hits them. The best part is my kids loved it because they are not yet able to catch real frisbees without hurting their fingers but they can catch the UberFo with ease and it is easy to fly- very satisfying for a 7 and a 9 year old. The PirateShip was fun to assemble and was crafty since you have to cut out your own sail from a plastic shopping bag, etc.. We sailed the PirateShip in a small lake and I was amazed how well it sailed. My kids loved making their own ship from scratch. Perhaps the best part is that the Uberstix work with other build systems and they have since added Lego's and PlayMobil parts to their PirateShip making it look even cooler. For all the teachers out there, I teach and this would be a great toy for Earth Day.
