(More customer reviews)My five-year-old son put this together, with me just looking over his shoulder and pointing out details in the instructions when he missed something. It's a delight in every way. It has a launcher that works elegantly with just rubberbands. There's lots of opportunity for imaginative play. It was a marvelous learning experience and achievement for him. The instructions were crystal clear and every piece was accounted for. It looks totally 'cool' , but not cheap or flashy, and it's plenty sturdy,I can't say enough to adequately praise this item!

She has been cleaning up her legos too! What a miracle! She has two other bags of legos as well so she plays with them together. It's her favorite toy. I have two kids and I gotta say that so far this is the best money I have spent on toys. My kids have so many toys and this is her fav.

Mega Bloks Bag (70) Review

(More customer reviews)Most people have spent some time with LEGO-type toys in general so I will try and provide some info about this set / bag specifically.
The first thing I wondered when my son got this as a gift was would they ever fit back in the bag? Almost never happens with toys, but amazingly in this case they do. Sometimes they need to be jostled or re-arranged a bit but it is realistic to actually store the blocks in the bag. The bag is just plastic but is surprisingly tough. Ours lasted for a couple of years of normal use without the top or bottom tearing out or anything (and was still going strong when we passed it along to another family when my son outgrew this size). It spent much of that time stuffed under a side table in the living room. It had an unfortunate knack for accumulating dog hair but what can you do.
The blocks in this bag are mostly in the 1x1 to 1x4 neighborhood (meaning between a single square and a row of 4). There are a couple of larger sizes but for the most part these simpler sizes mean you will be able to make simpler constructs. I believe this is good for the target audience of the little ones though. My son always wanted (me) to make a "garage" his Hot Wheels could drive in, or alternately a "tunnel" they could drive through and come out the other side which works well.

Mega Bloks Halo War UNSC Turret Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great little set and a very good introduction to Mega Brands' Halo Wars product line. The design is pretty simple overall, using a nice assortment of basic bricks rather than specialized, single-use elements. The colors are excellent--really good representations of Halo colors, and frankly it just looks great.
The turret itself features four laser cannons and a seat for the gunner. In addition, the turret swivels and elevates to provide a 360-degree arc of fire--enough to keep even the most stubborn Covenant forces at bay!
My favorite part is that the UNSC Turret includes three Spartan figures, so that this is a good set for starting to build your army! The figures are remarkably detailed and great representations of Spartans.
A fine set from start to finish. I already own three and plan to purchase at least two more.

Mega Bloks Farm Review

(More customer reviews)My 17 month old LOVES his new Maga Bloks Farm.
I searched and searched for a farm toy for my son who loves farm animals and got the Alex Toys Rub a Dub Squirters for the Tub - Farm for his first birthday. He plays with them as regular toys (not in the tub) so I wanted him to have a farm for them. But all the ones I came across were either too expensive, or too advance for his age.
This one is great!! affordable, simple, yet colorful and easy for him to play with. I would defnitely recommend it.
However, I do have a couple of things I didn't like so much:
1. it's a little unstable. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the actual farm is really thin (as in, not too deep from front to back) so my son easily knocks it down when playing, even if he is not trying to.
2. you indeed could, technically, "pack-n-go" all the items inside this farm, but not your kid. What I mean is, you have to strategically place each piece inside the farm to actually pack it so it's definitely a task that only the parent could complete.
3. I thought the pieces would blend with my son's other mega bloks but the hue is different, so you can definitely tell which pieces came with this toy (not bad if you want to keep them separate but I thought I should point it out anyway)
All and all this is a great toy and I highly recommend it. My son loves it, and I'm planning on buying other Mega Bloks sets like this (I found out they have a car wash, a fire engine, etc)

Mega Bloks Thomas Large Bucket Assortment Review

I have 2 sets of these Thomas mega blocks and they both have many parts that just dont stay connected no mater how much you play with. SOme parts dont click easliy and the track will not stay put no matter what i do on either set i have.
I need a medication after working with these each time. It tried again today for 35 min and nothing stays together, I click one and the other track pops. I HATE THIS THING!!
I have used legos since I was a kid and still build things with regular lego just fine.

Mega Bloks Dora's Buildable Boots Treehouse Adventure Review

(More customer reviews)My girls are 2 years old. They're able to stick basic Lego blocks together but they're not quite ready to build the structures, or leave them together, for that matter. They do, however, love to carry around and play with the figures. My four year old son does well at putting the stuctures together when no one is around to destroy them. I'm sure the girls will grow into this.

(More customer reviews)I got this set along with two other Diego Mega Brands sets for my 5 year old for Christmas. All the sets can be used together, and really gives my kids some extra pieces to pretend with. Both my older son and his 2-year-old brother have lots of fun building different animal adventure scenes.
We also got a pack of cheapy, plastic toy wild animals to go along with this...you can find those just about anywhere for just a dollar or two. And with all of the extra animals we added, they really enjoy themselves (...and no fighting over the only jaguar that comes with this set!!!)
Well-made, sturdy toy set that will likely be around for a while.

(More customer reviews)this review is more for the older fan base of Halo which i imagine that that is whom mega bloks was going after, since halo is rated m. i take this line as more for display than to play with. I have helped some of my younger cousins build their legos some of the bigger pieces and found it is about the same difficulty level. that being said I would not recommend this item for anybody under the age of 10. Also if you are looking to play with these items i would highly suggest not to, since the parts are odd shaped and hard to keep in place. on a final note the instructions are hard since it is a 3d toy on paper. A definite plus is the action figures that come with the mega bloks much much better than the lego ones.

ProBuilder: Tactical Fighter Review

(More customer reviews)This set is really cool and also very BIG. 525 peices total, this set took a while to build. The directions were a little hard to follow and I would recomend that you look at them carefully. If you make a wrong step you might have to start all over again.
For the price this set is an awsome value. Any LEGO set that had this many peices would cost about forty dollers more!
Overall this set is a great vaule , great fun to build , and just looks great!!!

Mega Bloks Halo Wars UNSC Gremlin Review

(More customer reviews)The MegaBloks Gremlin set makes a handsome and sturdy vehicle with a big, easy to access cockpit and six rubber tires. This set is great for careful ten year olds on up.
The Gremlin is made from rectangular blocks and wedges, making it a less sophisticated model than Lego might have made, but also making it easier to rebuild as something else. The instructions are easy to follow, highlighting studs where new pieces attach.
During construction the Gremlin goes through some frail stages. There were times when I was adding pieces only a little quicker than I was knocking pieces off. Once built it holds up to rolling fast and bashing into things, but if you roll it on its side, you might have to rebuild the 'gun' on top and replace some antennae. The front fenders make tempting handles but are not quite strong enough to use for picking up the vehicle.
The figures included look great but are very different from Lego minifigures. The MegaBloks figures have knees, elbows, rotating waists, a ball joint neck, hips, and shoulders, giving them a huge range of motions. You cannot simply grab the chest and get them to stand, you have to adjust knees and hips separately.
This set would frustrate a young builder but is very high fun per dollar for older kids.

Mega Bloks Lil' School Bus Review

(More customer reviews)For the price we paid, it is a completely decent toy. I love megabloks, (do I play with my daughter's toys? Yes. More than I should? Maybe.) and I love little vehicles as does she. The megablokness is totally what you'd expect; the wheels that don't move smoothly are what makes her not care so much about it as a toy. It's also a little small on the inside, (again keep in mind it is dirt cheap) so while you can use the bus to transport things, arranging to have a blok base inside for figures to sit without falling all over the place like loose coins in a purse, which I think would have been great and easy, would have made for a much better toy.
To sum up my complaints:
Wheels don't move smoothly
I want car seats, ie blok base for the figures we want to transport.
