(More customer reviews)I have a 6 year old and thought this would be a great art project to do together. However, as fun as this sounds, it is a frustrating experience.
My observations:
-The markers were difficult to use. I had to push and push on them to get the ink flowing and then my daughter got frustrated trying to color. You have to use short strokes and squeeze the markers very hard to keep getting ink.
-The paper cutouts are easy to punch out.
-You have to be very careful how you attach the clips for the mobile. Because you plug them into the base (which spins two ways) you have to watch out or you tie up all the clips in one rotation.
-The spinning shadow scene was a bit easier to use on the spinning base but still a pain to color.
-The glowing colors were okay and it was fun to watch for a little while. The colors were not what a would consider an "explosion" however. They are very muted compared to the photo on the box.
-The glow in the dark aspect only lasts 4 hours (according to the box.) It didn't last nearly that long for us.
-You need 2 AA batteries which are NOT included in the box.
My daughter enjoyed it for all of 10 minutes. Not something we would recommend until they can fix the problem with the ink in the markers. It's a great idea- but fails in execution.

Fantasy Set 2000 Blocks Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter and I have made a plethora of toys and creatures with these blocks, mind you it does take some getting used to (there is a learning curve here for both parent and child, you might find that they can pick it up faster than you). So make sure your child already likes, and builds with (Lego) type toys. We've had a blast!

King Kong vs. V-Rex Battling Game Review

(More customer reviews)I recently bought this for my 5-1/2 year old son and he seems to get more frustrated with it than he does having fun playing with it. I suppose the concept is along the lines of "Rockem Sockem Robots" -- with King Kong and Rex though, there is a small button in front (flush with the body) that has to be pushed (presumably by the other toy) in order for them to collapse. The problem is that there's no way that having these two go at it is going to get that button pushed -- you have to do it yourself. Once they are collapsed you have to wind their bodies back to their original position which is difficult for me and nearly impossible for a child. The other problem is the stands that are intended for them to be on while fighting -- they shouldn't have even bothered with them. They can hardly stay put on the stands when they're not fighting let alone when they are. I'd say that the only redeeming qualities about this toy is that for $20 they are well made & sturdy, realistic looking and a nice size for a child's hands.
