(More customer reviews)My seven year old son and i received this as a Chrismas gift,as we put it together we were delited to see it take the form of a Harley soft tail with great detail, the finished project was incredible.
Although it was missing a few pieces we were fortunate enough to have plenty of spare pieces from past projects,we have done two other pro builders series and each had a few peices missing that we replaced with our extras that we already had on hand.
Basically i geuss it could be said that this was an awesome project but would have been a disater without the spare bloks that we had,mega bloks should take more care on making sure all the peices are in the box,aside from that we gave it two thumbs up.

ProBuilder: Tactical Fighter Review

(More customer reviews)This set is really cool and also very BIG. 525 peices total, this set took a while to build. The directions were a little hard to follow and I would recomend that you look at them carefully. If you make a wrong step you might have to start all over again.
For the price this set is an awsome value. Any LEGO set that had this many peices would cost about forty dollers more!
Overall this set is a great vaule , great fun to build , and just looks great!!!

Mega Bloks Pro Builders USS Nimitz Review

(More customer reviews)My six year old son loves construction toys and the Mega Bloks ProBuilder Series is one of his favorites. I've been disappointed, however, by how often he notes that "the Mega Bloks are the ones that don't stick together very well." Given the fact that we purchased a large number of the kits at closeout sales this isn't a problem, they're not expensive.
However, If I consider the amount of time he spends playing with these types of toys (both Lego and Mega Bloks), the pleasure he gets from them, and the the educational value, then I can easily justify the additional cost of Legos.
Bottom line: Mega Bloks are okay, but the Legos are a much better value.

MEGA BLOKS PRO BUILDER-DESTROYER Review

(More customer reviews)I got the Destroyer as a gift from my wife. I've loved Legos all my life but had not messed with them much over the last couple years. It took me about 5 days off and on to put it together. I really enjoy it and found it fun to put together. The instructions could be a little more helpful if they would show different angles in the mid to final steps but all in all a great model.

Mega Bloks Star Trek Enterprise Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, the model in the picture on this site is not assembled correctly- the two engines (nacelles) are actually a bit longer and have rounded ends.
The finished Enterprise has a nice weight to it and is fun to fly around. It would have been nice if it was easier to separate the saucer from the main ship (like in the show), but I'm guessing that wasn't possible for structural integrity reasons (the saucer is heavy). But overall, it looks surprisingly good. In addition to the section that holds the nacelles being smooth, there is a specialized bridge section which is also smooth and balances the smooth/blocky aesthetic. My only complaint might be that the underside lacks detail compared to the top (a frequent complaint of mine for Lego, i.e. Millennium Falcon, great detail up top, nothing underneath).
I like the Captain Picard figure included. The head sculpt looks pretty close to the character, who is bald. I think it's better that he has a smooth head rather than having a connector on the top (Lego characters look great with hair or hats, no so good bald - look at the NBA figures). The weapon looks very much like the phaser used in the show - much better than the guns that Lego gives to the Star Wars characters.
As for play value, the scale is not right for this to be a "play set" - it would have to be massive to have any meaningful interior play areas - and which ones would be included? The stories on the show take place all over the ship, so even if there was a bridge and engine room interiors, it would still be lacking - if the ship was to scale for a standard Megablock/Lego figure, the ship would have to be the size of a house - simply not possible.
The saucer section is relatively complicated to build - this is not a set for younger kids. But for teenage and (more likely) adult fans of Star Trek and Lego/Mega blocks, this is a nice set.

MEGA BLOKS PROBUILDER USS KITTYHAWK Review

(More customer reviews)Good grief- just when I thought I'd gained a modicum of maturity, I go and take another step back toward the womb. In this case, it was this particular contraption that led to my regression. Having been a Lego builder during my pre-middle school years, and a fan of naval vessels, I decided to relive my childhood for a little while with this little gem. Eight hours and two sore thumbs later, I managed to complete the task of assembly. And I must admit, this block model does have a pretty close resemblance to its real-life seafaring counterpart (aside from the somewhat- um- 'blocky' appearance, that is)! It even has an added feature that the real-life Kitty Hawk lacks: wheels! Yep, after putting it together, you can roll this naval behemoth along instead of dragging it! Definitely a wear-saver on wooden floors!
Although a few other folks have stated that Mega Bloks don't seem to adhere to each other as well as Legos do, I didn't encounter any difficulty with the finished product keeping itself together, except for some of the more weakly-anchored bits on the ship's deck (directional 'lights', thrust backwash flaps, etc.). My real problem was getting the blocks together- you really gotta push 'em in to get them to click together! I also had a bear of a time getting all the deck plates to be flush with one another- where no one plate was higher or lower than the other. I also had to deal with an elevator that wasn't level, and wouldn't stay in place. I try to put it up flat at deck level, and it just hangs a slight angle. Strangely enough, the other elevator didn't have these problems- it stayed perfectly flat with the plane of the deck. Of course, it could just be I didn't put the one elevator together correctly. So much for my career as an engineer...
My only other complaint is that the set comes with assembly instructions for just the Kitty Hawk, and not the other vessels depicted on the back of the assembly booklet. Although I'd like to try my hand at putting together these alternate configurations, I don't quite have the patience to figure out how to do it on my own...
