You get the lost temple, two Anubis statues that Indy can topple and break through some walls, although you don't get the extra room with all the corpses, but there is a snake trap that dumps snakes into the room. You also get the Ark of the Covenant and of course Indy and Marion Ravenwood.

(More customer reviews)This set of 700 basic lego blocks is a good value. This is a nice set for making buildings, but it does not include wheels for making cars. Of the sets out there, this is one of the more colorful sets with two shades of green and two shades of blue blocks. The golden brick is unique, but it is hardly the reason to buy this. The box works fairly well for storage and can fit under the couch when not in use. As is the case in all of these sets, you get a fair number of smaller 1x1 and 1x2 bricks, but for under fourty dollars you get a lot of bricks. It would be nice if they included some wheels, but you might consider looking at lego dot com to add specific pieces that you like. Also, you might consider buying some used pieces (even dating back to the 1970s) from bricklink dot com.

LEGO Duplo My First Set (5416) Review

(More customer reviews)I am shocked at the reviews for this product. Nearly every review mentions the fact that the product is "over-priced for the number of blocks you get" or "you may want to skip this product and buy the deluxe duplo set". I totally agree!
This was definitely the most disappointing toy under the tree this year. Our little guy was graduating from Mega-Blocks to Legos and we put this on his wish list. Based on the nearly "5-star" reviews we chose this "first set". But 30 blocks doesn't build much folks. That is nearly $1.00 per block if you exclude the bucket they come in.
We are VERY disappointed in the value of this toy. Before you believe the other "5-Star" reviews, read them carefully. Nearly every one of them states "few blocks for the money" and/or "looking to get more blocks". I am not sure why they gave it "5-stars" if they thought the toy was insufficient for the price or play value.
If you need an expensive bucket to hold Lego's, then this product may be just what you need.
Sheesh!

The drawback with this set is that it has no windows/doors or roof shingles; you have to order these in a separate set. It takes a child at most 30 minutes to assemble all 4 buildings and they are quite small at about 5 inches tall each. There is very little detail and very little fun involved. (More customer reviews)What a fantastic toy! My daughter received it for her 7th birthday and she and I had great fun putting it together. It took her days to complete it and she was so proud of her accomplishment. It is a LOT of work. I think the average 8 or 9 year old probably could do it with little help from an adult or older sibling. I needed to help my daughter find some of the pieces, but she did all of the assembly herself. Also, much like the SpongeBob Legos, the best part is that after it is finished you can play with it and make up Avatar adventures. At some point we will disassemble ther whole thing and then in a month or mroe she can put it together all over again as we have done with the SpongeBob Legos. A great set for any Lego fan.

(More customer reviews)We got this for each of my daughters this Valentine's Day instead of candy. I have one tom boy, classic Lego enthusiast and one pink loving Little Princess. They BOTH were super excited to get this set! My tom boy loved the new colors and she built a house right away, my princess loved the pink and made a princess and a flower garden right away. I hope Lego continues with the pink sets-they are awesome and they do not go against the classic lego style. I find the other 'girl geared' sets a bit off putting-why do they have to change the block shapes, etc. to appeal to girls? This is a much more appealing alternative-Good Job Lego!!

(More customer reviews)I've been a lifelong LEGO fan, as have many men my age (25), but there came a point where it was no longer acceptable to be displaying my Star Wars models on my desk at work. The architecture series has revitalized my sheer joy of LEGO construction by providing me both the joy of building a set, coupled with the pride of showing it off. While the price is a little steep (welcome to the world of LEGO), for such a small and simple set (it only stands about 5 inches tall), the excellent quality and classic design of the set are well worth it. It even provides interesting facts in the instruction book, expanding the experience and tricking you into learning while you play.
I have this set placed proudly on my desk at work, and my coworkers are often surprised to learn it is a LEGO set at all. Although we may outgrow sitting cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by heaps of LEGOs, this set is an excellent buy for anyone looking to reclaim a small part of their youth.
The set is, however, not exactly durable, as one direct hit with a Nerf basketball sent me scrambling for pieces. The set is not meant to be played with, so much as displayed.
All-in-all, the set may not have the same value as your typical children's toy, but the differences provide new and unique offerings that you may not have thought about when you heard the name LEGO.

LEGO Architecture Fallingwater (21005) Review

(More customer reviews)First things first, this isn't really a "traditional" Lego set: while all the pieces are things you'd recognize from 25 years ago, the set is clearly aimed at a much older audience. The box even states its recommended for 16+. I'm 30, a big fan of architecture and I've always enjoyed Legos (but hadn't bought a set in over a decade), so when I heard this set had been created I leaped at the chance to place it in my new home. I'm not disappointed.
When constructed, the structure isn't big: the base measures 10" x 5" and its 4.5" high, but its quite complex (more complex than the sets I remember as a kid) and feels substantial when completed. There are well over 800 pieces and approximately 100 pages of instructions. The instruction book also includes a few short essays on Frank Lloyd Wright and Fallingwater. The assembly instructions are well done and putting it together took several hours but no confusion.
You can't tell by looking at it, but the structure is actually designed to come apart: the house is in several pieces that stack on top of each other and then slide into the base; this ability to do a blow-up diagram lets you examine some of the forms that were used in the structure. Of course, you can't expect this set to be a very precise reproduction of the actual landmark, but it definitely captures its essence.
The set uses only a handful of colors that seem inspired by the colors Wright would use in some of his sketches --it gives the completed piece a very mature look. Once it was done I placed it on a shelf next to various books on architecture and modern sculptures. This is a very substantial piece when fully constructed, and if it got your attention like it did mine, I think you'll be satisfied with it.

(More customer reviews)My ten year old son got this for Christmas, and finally assembled it during spring break. He was not very excited by the picture on the box, but I encouraged him to put it together and now it is his favorite ship ever. It's almost organic looking, with parts that move in an insectozoid (sp) fashion. The set also comes with cool green aliens, and a small space station that shoots missiles, and my son has been playing with it nonstop.
I am thoroughly impressed by this ship myself. The green tendril things make it look positively creepy, in a way that my kids just love. We have several Lego spaceships/shuttlecrafts and this is, in my opinion, the best.
Even the most jaded lego spaceship lover is bound to be wowed by this wonderful Mars Mission Alien Mothership.
