Pirates of the Caribbean 2: 200-Piece Flying Dutchman Playset Review

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: 200-Piece Flying Dutchman Playset
Average Reviews:

My kids were getting very frustrated with the connections of masts and hulls. They are very poorly designed and "pressure" fit to a point where they easily pop off. Both boats - the Royal Dutchman and Black Pearl - have poor fitting. Compared to lego, the ability for parts to connect and stay connected is extremely poor.
I plan to write a letter to Mega Blocks about this quality issue.

I basically agree about the other review. However,I have a few things to say.I would recommend this bionicle to anybody, any age.It is not really complicated, however,so I would not suggest this product if you are looking for a hard-to-build bionicle.Other than this,it is a fantastic product.

My nephew is autistic and when he is down he calls me and we pick a Lego bionicle for him to work on and add to his collection. He studies everything about the toy up close and seems to connect with each one. He gets the catalog and knows exactly what he wants to get. I recommend this toy to all children.

LEGO Exo-Force Gate Assault Review

LEGO Exo-Force Gate Assault
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Aside Bionicle, I haven't purchased any LEGOs in quite some time-- until EXO Force. The manga look at overall theme appeals to me. The Gate Assault here was my 8th and final EXO Force buy, completing the line until July. Aside the Sonic Phantom, this set is probably a resident shelf warmer at your local TRU.
The Gate Assault has 3 mobiles-- a land vehicle for the robots, a humanoid EXO mecha for the robots, an "air" humanoid EXO mecha for the humans, and then a gate to prevent the robots from breaking in to.
The robot land vehicle is a standard vehicle with nothing too exciting or flashy about it. It can hold 2 of the robots-- one to drive, and one to man the battling gun type turret built on top. It's a sturdy Lego vehicle, but like I said, nothing special.
The robot EXO mecha is an acceptable build. Although built similar to the #7711 Sentry or #7708 Uplink, it features dark red colors and nice armor designs. The shoulder, color, and arsenal are different from the other similar sets, however.
Same goes for the human's EXO mecha. It's another slighly similar build to the sets mentioned above, with the same differences, accept this one has some nice wing-like obtrusions, and a windshield. Both mecha have a cockpit to fit 1 minifigure.
The gate is a regular build, complete with a few turrets built into the sides and above the gate itself. There is a spring-loaded projecile that fires when the door is open (it has to hit the latch to fire) which makes it an inovative piece. But aside that, it is pretty dormant. It IS a wall, after all.
Every set in the EXO Force line includes a small sheet of decals with instructions on where to put them. Being a tad of a perfectionist, I spent a great deal of time trying to put them on flawlessly-- if you purchase this set for a little one, he or she may want your help. I personally like the challenge. Just don't fudge up, there are no extra decals.
I feel this set is a bit more expensive than for what you get. The main bread and butter of the line are the mecha, which go for about half the price of this. I have mixed reactions now that I've completed the line. Buy this if you're going to complete the line, or know why you want it. It's not a great example of the EXO Force line by itself, but can be fun with some of the other mecha.

LEGO BIONICLE? Visorak Boggarak Review

LEGO BIONICLE? Visorak Boggarak
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had sent my husband and our 5 year old son out to buy groceries at one of the super stores the other night and they came home with this. Apparently they got lost looking for the meat department and ended up in the toy department instead, what a shocker right? Since the container clearly stated for ages 7+ I wasn't exactly thrilled that my husband agreed to buy it. There were so many little pieces that my husband had to help our son put it together. Once it was finished two things ran through my mind. First I didn't think our son would be able to fix it if it fell apart, which it will, a lot, if played with roughly. Second there is a black zip tie like thing that has to go into the back part of the spider then has to be pulled out rather quickly in order to make the spinner on it's back fly off properly and I didn't my son would be able to do this without help or would end up getting so frustrated that he would just ditch the toy. However to my amazement I was wrong, he has been able to fix it each time something has fallen off and he has been able to work the launcher without any problems. I plan to purchase more in the future since he has enjoyed this one so much. However, if you hate toys with little pieces then this isn't the toy for you. If your kids aren't good about keeping toys and their accessories together then this toy isn't for you either because once you lose the black zip tie thing you can't launch the discs. As for the age recommendation I really don't think a 7 year old could put this together his or her self, it is a bit complicated but again I could be proven wrong.

My son loves these toys, but he only likes to put them together once and then usually doesn't play with it again.
Good value for Lego product.

While the numbing power of its Rhotuka spinner is effective against foes, the Oohnorak's true power lies in its trickery. Using limited telepathy and a talent for mimicry, Oohnorak can duplicate the voices of trusted friends and lure an enemy into a trap. Start building! Measures 7" x 5". Includes 48 LEGO pieces.

LEGO Exo-Force Sentai Fortress Review

LEGO Exo-Force Sentai Fortress
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
first of all, I first got this set for christmas. it was a little on the pricey side, but TOTALLY worth it. it comes with seven mini-figs:(that's how we lego junkies say minifigures.)ha-ya-to,takeshi,ryo,sensei keiken, hikaru, meca one, and two iron drones.(not counting the spider robot it comes with)all the humans have anime-style hair(one of the reasons I was atrracted to the line) except for sensei keiken. the base itself is HUGE. it has a medical bay, a command tower, a repair bay,a weapons bay, and there are little carts that can go along the walls. it also comes with a full size battle machine called 'silent strike'. I don't think you can get it anywhere else. it includes a battle machine(not full size)that dosen't have a name, that is meca one's. the thing isn't very well done, and the cockpit keeps falling back.(it's desigined like that, not fully attached to the rest of the body)it has a disk launcher, which dosen't work all that good. I just take out the disks and play with it. the spider bot is cool, but it's legs are hard to poisition right. a cool thing about the repair bay is that any full size battle machine will fit in it.(exept for striking venom and some of the larger sets, like the mobile defense tank. I should know. I tried it) it also includes neat little components like work tools, and other things. on the front there is a HUGE gate. only con that I experienced with it is that the doors keep falling off. it might work better or worse with another one, though.(crazy as it sounds, building and playing with legos since I was four taught me that) the medical bay has a little bed that will fit a mini-fig in it. there is a light brick(again, more lego junkie talk) that is connected to a fiber-optical tube that shines through a little tiny magnifying glass. the weapons bay has two guns, and two missles. overall, this thing ROCKS!! any exo force fan will want one.
