UberArc 1600 Architectural Series Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this for Christmas for my 13 year old son who is interested in architecture. He had not asked for it, but I thought he would like it because it looked a little "older" than legos. He loved it! Thought it was so cool because it was so tall. He finished it in 2 days because he couldn't stop working on it. He is a sports kid, so I was impressed. He is already looking at all their other products.
Great Buy!

Mega Bloks 600-Piece Micro System Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These interconnecting building blocks are great fun, and are fully compatible with Lego (Tm) blocks, while being about half the price per block of a LEGO Set. They're great for filler while using the fancier Lego (Tm) specialty blocks. My kids love them!

KidKraft Glow in the dark Space Train Station Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My mother bought this for my 3 year old son for christmas. He is totally in love. he was begging me for 2 days to put it together and i haven't seen him since I set it up! It took me almost an hour to put it all together though. The space stations all have screws in them to keep them from falling apart when the kids play with it. Im thankful I don't have to put that together a hundred times! The track looks sturdy and the glowing feature is really neat. My only complaint is that we have a train table from Target and the space play-board is about half an inch to long for his table. Without the space board the set fits perfectly on the table. So my husband has to figure out how to trim the space board to fit the table now. Other then that no problems at all! I would highly recommend it.

Infinitoy Zoob Basic Set, 500 - Piece Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We purchased this for our boys - ages 5 & 7 for Christmas because they really love the lego products and we got the 500 piece set so that our four children, ages 5,7,9 & 11 could enjoy it together...once they got started - they have done something with it everyday! The instruction books are a great visual tool but the kids have tried lots of things on their own as well. The only item I wish was different was the case - it broke on the first day so we had to put everything in a heavy duty plastic bin so it could handle traveling from one room to another.

Knex Value Tub 400 pieces Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 7-year-old daughter loves this tub of K'nex, and has now foresworn her LEGOs. 400 pieces does not go as far as you might expect, however; you may find yourself shopping for an expansion set soon.
LEGO:
* you can build houses
* simple stacking approach
* upgrade to Technics for 3D building
* those adorable little LEGO people
* wider variety of pieces and sets
K'Nex:
* 3-dimensional construction
* more complicated trigonometric approach
* you can build bridges
* everything can rotate
And I saw a K'Nex set that lets you join LEGO and K'Nex ...

LEGO Creator Green Grocer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I splurged on this Lego set and couldn't make myself wait for Christmas to put it together. In all, it took about four or five hours to put together - the set is over 1,600 pieces. There are three stories to the building. The first story is the grocery store, complete with cash register, vegetables and fruits (nice effects), and a refrigerated section. The second story is an apartment with a fireplace and stairs. The third story is a combination apartment/terrace. There is a grandfather clock and old-style heater by the window. The terrace has a grill and furniture.
Other nice effects in the set include a covey underneath the stairs for a mouse to hide in, and a set of mailboxes. Also, the first floor is covered in smooth tiles, giving it a nice texture and look. The mini-figures included in the set are pretty standard.
I prefer this type of set to the Creator sets, because it is built to scale for mini-figure interaction. The building itself is beautiful - my children saw it on the table in the morning and stopped to admire it (before asking to play with it). I would recommend this set to any adult aficionado of Lego's. I had a blast putting it together and displaying it.

LEGO? Bricks & More Builders of Tomorrow Set 6177 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This 650 piece set is pretty good. It's all just bricks and seems to have about 3:1 ratio of small 1x4 and 1x2 bricks to 2x2 and 2x3. So if you are looking for the small narrow pieces this set has more of those. Also its just bricks, there's no flat pieces and no wheels or other special pieces. That said, this an ideal supplement for the many Lego games which in my opinion benefit from the smaller pieces. The price is pretty great too.
Hope this helps.

Original Nanospheres, 231 Rare Earth Magnetic Balls Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Pros
-- Price
-- Come in cool Octahedron shape
Cons
-- Safety hazard for young children
I got some Bucky Balls as a gift and really liked them and wanted more these small magnets. So I bought some Nanospheres as well as some Magnet Balls Original Edition - Magnetic Earth Magnet Puzzle in Collector's Tin.
From looking online at Amazon they all looked like the same thing and examining all three products they are virtually identical. So much so that they may all be from the same source. I noticed a review stating Magnet Balls were lighter, but I have a decent scale some calipers and all three products consist of Axially Magnetized; .216 gram; 5 mm spheres. There was some variation in strength, but I noticed that between batches of the same product. As far as I can tell the magnetic strength (out of the box) is the same besides if they were much stronger it would become too difficult to handle them. Two spheres will 'jump' together on a flat surface if placed within 5 mm and I was able to take a string of about 200 (of each product) and pick up three cubes (216 each).
All Three Products are good and each has an advantage.
A few of pages of examples would benefit all these products (and cost next to nothing to add), but the main fun is creating your own magnetic sculptures.
Bucky Balls have the best container (small plastic cube which can be used to 'cut' into bunches or strings of balls and an instruction sheet which is nice, but are by far the most expensive.
Magnet Balls Original Edition - Magnetic Earth Magnet Puzzle in Collector's Tin are well priced (about the same per ball as Nanospheres) and come in a cube packed in a 'tin'
My choice (the least expensive by a very small margin) is this product NanoSpheres particularly as they come in a cooler shape the Octahedron
