(More customer reviews)I have seen in many reviews of Mega Bloks products, that people think mega bloks inferior to Legos in durability. That isn't so simply the truth. Mega Bloks pieces are weaker than Legos, (tiny faults on slightly inferior plastic is to blame) however, the structure as a whole ends up more cohesive than most Lego sets. the first day my Hawk was complete, I dropped it from from my bed, with lots of swearing on my part until...I picked it up to inspect the damage...it was fine. Couldn't have done that with a Lego set unless I built it myself. Mega Bloks also end up more detailed. They seem more willing to experiment with detail more...All in all, Legos are great for kids, who tend to be little brutes on accident, (haven't quite got the hand eye coordination of you and I) but Mega Bloks are great for models. Just take it easy 'til it's finished, alright?

Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Warthog Review

(More customer reviews)I originally bought this for the machine gun, but it actually turned out to be a cool model, with big rubber tires, a solid feel and nice weight. Unfortunately, it suffers from three minor design flaws.
1) The front hooks have no solid connection, so they will fall off.
2) The gun mount is about 1 plate too low, and will not swivel unless raised. This requires the platform for the figure to also be raised.
3) The windshield and connection to the crossbar seem to be slightly off in many sets. This causes the front end to fall apart under the stress of attaching it. I admit to giving up in frustration twice before coming back to finish the model using a few basic tricks to increase clutch. The fit is still not perfect, but the Warthog is now quite solid and can handle being rolled over 1/2" rounded obstacles and crashed into walls with moderate force (minus the hooks) without breaking apart.
The Covenant Turret isn't anything to write home about, but includes some interesting pieces like the trans-blue rods and 4-way connectors that have already proven invaluable in other builds.
The UNSC figures are IMO excellent for their size and offer a great deal of pose-ability. At first , I didn't care for the Covenant Elite, but, once again, I've since found many uses for the unusual parts.
I gave this an educational rating of 5 because I feel that the challenge of correcting the flaws is an excellent learning experience for older children. Younger children and those with short attention spans will need adult assistance with this toy.
I knocked two stars off durability due to the issues with the front end.

Halo Kubricks Series 2 Figures Review

At first view, these figures looked compatible with Lego and they are not. They are too big to play with standard Lego figures and bricks.
The figures are nice and each come with 2 sub-machine guns and a battle rifle. We loved that.
The only issue we found is that we were expecting to build vehicles and other things with Lego to go with these figures, but they are not compatible.

Mega Bloks Red UNSC Spartan II Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not a huge Halo but I do think the story and characters are great... This figure is fun to have around and pose every once in a while to let others in the home get a kick out of it. The item had all its pieces and it looks great.
The biggest draw back is sometimes pieces pop loose when posing it then others pop loose when trying to fix the first one that popped loose. ARgh.
A+ product.

Mega Bloks UNSC Spartan II Review

(More customer reviews)I didn't buy this toy on amazon, I found it at Target. I thought it looked interesting and at 10 bucks it's cheaper than most of the other Halo action figures.
This is a must-buy if you love Halo toys like I do. It's not a traditional action figure, it's a building-block style action figure, it comes in a box in pieces and you have to put it together. It's very similar to the Lego Bionicle action figures. The figure uses magnets to connect most of the major joints, and this actually works much better than it sounds. The build quality is excellent, Master Chief is perfectly capable of standing under his own power.
Fully assembled, Master Chief stands about 6 1/4 inches tall. The box is unnecessarily large and doesn't actually say how big the final product is. The box says Halo Wars and Spartan-II so I guess technically it's not Master Chief but he's green so you be the judge. He comes with an assault rifle.

This figure might not be as accurately modeled or as poseable as the MacFarland figures, but he's obscure and I'll bet none of your friends have one. To me that makes him the prize of my collection.
On a side note, if you have little kids (offspring, siblings, nieces, nephews) constantly bugging you to play with your MacFarland collection of Halo figures, buy this for them. It's a great alternative that will keep their little mitts off your shelf. Also, it would be pointless to keep him in the box since he's in pieces like a Lego set anyway.

(More customer reviews)I put this one together with my 8 year old son and it took about a half hour. He loves it and has played with it many, many times. I wouldn't say Mega Bloks are as good as Lego but they are close. You can only find Halo stuff with Mega Bloks, so what you going do? My only advice is make sure you put the pieces together really tight so they won't come apart later. If you are putting something together with more than 700 pieces you might want to use glue, trust me.

(More customer reviews)this review is more for the older fan base of Halo which i imagine that that is whom mega bloks was going after, since halo is rated m. i take this line as more for display than to play with. I have helped some of my younger cousins build their legos some of the bigger pieces and found it is about the same difficulty level. that being said I would not recommend this item for anybody under the age of 10. Also if you are looking to play with these items i would highly suggest not to, since the parts are odd shaped and hard to keep in place. on a final note the instructions are hard since it is a 3d toy on paper. A definite plus is the action figures that come with the mega bloks much much better than the lego ones.

(More customer reviews)Bought these figures for use with the Mega Blox Halo vehicles. The figures are pretty cool and their limbs/bodies/heads can be interchanged. My only disappointment is with myself for not doing my homework before purchasing. We are talking 5 figures a bit bigger than the Lego figures but with a price tag of 30$, basically making them 6$ a piece. Granted he loved them and is still playing with them but its still hard to justify the price.

(More customer reviews)It's beyond the construction skills of my 6-year-old, so I wound up stuck with a 3 1/2 hour building job. Pros: my son in love! In addition to the usual imaginative play block playsets provide, it offers play clay and forms for sculpting aliens and two removable tanks w/ food dye for colored water fun. It seems very sturdy and looks to have long-term play value. Cons: it's hard to explain to a 6-yr-old why the aliens are being experimented on and held in tanks. I hadn't planned on introducing him to conspiracy theories just yet. :/

(More customer reviews)this is worth 60 dollars definetly, people complain that mega bloks come apart to easy and are not stable but the pelican is like a rock I have droped this thing many times and it just refuses to break (exept for the cockpit) but the pelican itself is great with the bonus of 2 yellow spartans and a hayabusa spartan. I would recomend this to anyone that would play with it or put it on display this would be a great center piece to any colecter or halo fan but this is now available at target for 60 dollars so you dont have to order it. Overall just the best work mega bloks has ever done the picture on this site IS NOT the real pelican you will recieve you will get the one in the second picture the one of the box.

(More customer reviews)Like many other lego fans, I was skeptical with my purchase of a MEGA Bloks set do to their apparent quality difference. However, upon purchasing and constructing this set, I was immensely pleased with my purchase. At 385 pieces for $40, you are getting just about the right price-to-parts price point, 10 cents per piece, unlike lego and its every increasing prices. As for the set, the ships went together with ease for anyone who knows how to build these sets. The instructions were extremely clear and allowed for easy building. My 7 year old brother built the Gauss Warthog with hardly any difficulty, and is enjoying his creation at this moment. The ships are durable and fun. However, application of the smaller stickers can be a bit agitating trying to line it up straight. The figures are great and go great with their respective vehicles and look amazing! The guns quality is great as well. The Locust was a fun build for even myself after building countless lego sets. Constructing the four same legs simultaneously was repetitive, but fun none the less. For the two large vehicles, two Spartans figures, Elite figure, and Grunt figure, this set is a steal at $40 and I recommend it to anybody on the fence about the MEGA Bloks Halo Line.

(More customer reviews)I got this set from target for the same price it was here,29.99. when i got home i opened it up and built it the mega blocks instructions are slightly harder to read than the lego instructions but still easily build able. all of the pieces were there and they all easily snapped together also some people say that the mega blocks are lower quality then legos i can not tell the difference. also the wolverine is built like a rock and never falls apart until the hunter included tears it apart.(even the hunter can only do this with some difficulty.)also I like that you can fire all of the missiles separately or all at once.

Mega Bloks Halo Wars Aerial Ambush Review

(More customer reviews)I normally avoid Mega Bloks because they have a tendency to be inferior in quality to Lego. This was the case here as well, with bricks that don't fit snugly and others that are warped. In the end there were certain parts that would not even stay on. The two chin-guns and the laser cannons would not stay on at all. In the end I had to bust out the super glue and glued everything that kept falling off. Now it makes a great display piece, but I can never take it apart, but I don't think I ever would have anyway.
Once together the Hawk looks absolutely awesome. Mega Bloks did an excellent job on the shape and appearance and the stickers and camo-colored blocks only add to the look.
While the Hawk is the focal point of the set the Banshee is every bit as good and looks as close to the video game as you could get. The figures are also very good, and much more articulated and realistic than the Lego offerings. Children may find them harder to pose because of this, but I didn't buy this for the kids, I bought it for me. ;)
If the set had been offered in Lego I would give it 5 stars but because of the quality issues with Mega Bloks I deducted 1 star. Be warned, if your child wants to be able to build and re-build the model it may be difficult because without super glue the Hawk had parts that would not stay together. The Banshee and gun turret, as well as the figures, were fine.
