LEGO? World Racers Snake Canyon 8896 Review

(More customer reviews)Up till now I had pretty much looked past the Lego World Racers line, but the Snake Canyon set caught my 5-year old son's eye (and it was relatively cheap), so we gave this set a try. It's a small set with a pair of motorcycles, two minifigures, a trophy stand and some related accessories like a rocket-firing sidecar and sticks of dynamite. Apparently these racers are supposed to try and kill each other along the way. Go figure.
Complexity - The set includes 57 pieces, and is designed for builders age 7 and up. My son was determined to build this one though, and managed to assemble the minifigures, motorcycles and trophy stand with minimal assistance. I had to help with the stickers and the sidecar/missile launcher, since that was made mostly of the more complicated Technic elements. I think we spent 10-15 minutes total on assembly.
Playability - This is a fun little set whether you're just racing the motorcycles or coming up with complicated and/or absurd storylines for the riders. I was actually surprised at how much my son enjoyed this set.
I'm still ambivalent about the World Racers line, but this was a cool little set and it definitely pleased my little Lego fan. I could see it making a great stocking stuffer or similar gift too.

The rest of the items in the box were fine, including the big box all the items came in...Which of course means they were placed in there ALREADY smashed. Very annoying!!!!!!! I had to take a trip to the post office to send it back!!! Next time I will go to a toy store.

LEGO Fast 7967 Review

(More customer reviews)There is a design flaw in this Racer. All the pieces were there, but there is something missing because it kept on falling apart. The front fenders just didn't fit right. The undercarriage kept on coming apart. And the two piece that set on top of the turbo were not secure -- very lose. I have never been disappointed with a Lego set before this one.

LEGO Racers: Dirt Crusher R/C Vehicle Review

(More customer reviews)Although it might be a little bit hard to steer it goes so fast compared to my other rc cars that I can't tell if they're just slow or running out of batteries. Building the dirt crusher was fun, but for this 10-year old was a little bit too easy. It took me about 20 minutes to build it. I really love the suspension. I really like how it is all-terrain and its ability to wheely. I saved up my allowance for this and it is well worth it!!!

I'm a 45 year old dad, who purchased this for my son, who is 7 and i purchased it with the thought of building and explaining it to my son who is intellegent, but a couple years younger than the age group it was intended for. The game didn't have any material with it, it was the CD in a paper envelope in the Lego box. I haven't purchased that many games so I'm not sure if that's standard or not. This set, for including its own base-plate, and Ferrari licensed, is reasonably priced and very close to a real pit lane. It is durable enough to play with, but mine is used as a display, and looks great next to the 1/10 F1 car - 8386.

(More customer reviews)My 6 yr old assembled this himself and it works great on a hard surfaces (tables, linoleum, tile, wood, etc..). It does indeed pop a wheelie when you let it go. All the boys in the family ranging from kids to adults like playing with it. The only drawback is the normal one w/ legos; they fall apart when you decide to launch them off of a high surface or crash them into something at high speed. But clearly that's more an error w/ the users.
