My oldest son's birthday is coming up and he wanted a Mega Bloks Plasma Dragon. He got one for Christmas a few years ago. I looked in the local retail stores and couldn't find any. Then, I decided to try Amazon.com and found a number of Plasma Dragons. BB Toy Store had a discount for buying three. I ordered them and received them in less than a week! I am very pleased with my shopping experience and I know my son will be thrilled!

I purchased this toy for my son who loved the Mega Bloks pirate ships but this was a huge disappointment. They do not stay together and some of the pieces didn't even fit each other. I would not recommend this product - save your money.

Mega Bloks Fire Ice Dragon Mountain (9858) Review

Mega Bloks Fire Ice Dragon Mountain (9858)

Ok. So I purchased this set at the 39.00 price for my very spolied 5 year old. Yes - it does say i think 8 and up but he loves blocks and building and I knew I would be building it - it was not an issue. I mean we saw this last christmas and it was 70!!!!! This toy had to be fun right?? Well after you put it up then yes it is fun. It took me (an adult) 2 and a half hours to put this together - yes i followed all the directions which mind you - come in a book! Yes a book. It had very detailed pictures but like everyone said - the base and what holds it together doesnt really snap in good or hold it properly. I always wonder how these toy makers 1: make the directions up and 2: if they actually try to put their own toys together.
The dragons were the easiest of the bunch to put together.
All and all this playset is fun. You have the bucket that goes up and down (with people or rocks), you have the rocks come pouring out the head or top piece which lights up as well as one of the dragons (my son loved that), the dragons its just such a fun set. Plus its very detailed as well as the dragons. plenty of extra people that you didnt have to purchase seperately.
Worth the time and effort!

Bought this for a friends child. They have another set that goes with this and had mentioned it as a Christmas gift. When it arrived I was very surprised at how big the set was and how well made it was. This was bought for an 8yr old boy who thanked me several times for it. He seemed more than pleased. I would buy this set again if I need to.

My son received this as a gift for his birthday. He enjoys the set, but it is fairly obvious that the quailty of the set does not match Lego. There are minor visible defects on many of the blocks, the blue beast figure's legs do not stay attached, and several of the pieces do not 'snap' together as well as Lego.
That being said, the instructions were easy to follow and my son does like playing with the set.

This is a fun lego set that can be used to create a dragon, scorpion-like creature, or a robot-like monster. So far we've only created the dragon. It turned out very well. The set comes with one light brick that lights up in an orange/fire-like color. The light brick can be used as the dragon's "flames" in its mouth.
Age Recommendation: 7-12

Mega Bloks Dragons Krystal Wars - MARAUDER'S CLIFF Box Review

Mega Bloks Dragons Krystal Wars - MARAUDER'S CLIFF Box
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This set is one of my personal favorites. I like it because, unlike legos, you don't really need to keep the instructions to build the set. You can just use your imagination to build your own set. The pieces are big and very durable but it also has very detailed parts. But the setbacks are the price is higher than legos and the pieces don't go together as well as legos. But I like the magnetic claws and light up power crystals. Overall, I think mega bloks are better than legos. This set comes with 8 men: 3 gold and 5 blue. The gold ones are pretty much a mix of the old men mixed together. The blue have big shields and bone swords. The dragon is longer than the original dragons and its neck and tail move. The huts are cool. One of them has a trap door that you pull a lever and men fall down. It comes with a gun that shoots cannonballs and rotates. The sailboats can be connected to make a big side by side sailboat. It comes with a real cloth mast. This is a great set and I play with it a lot.

Mega Bloks Dragons Vorgan Stronghold Review

Mega Bloks Dragons Vorgan Stronghold
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My son got this Dragons set for his 8th birthday, and he really likes it. He likes the goblin figures, their hairy dragons, and the "wooden" crane you can use to move the prisoners with. Even I have to admit that these parts of the set are pretty cool looking, but the blocks themselves have been disappointing. They don't lock together well at all, and tend to slide off their short prongs while you are working with them. It can be pretty frustrating for a kid (and his parents) to build this great goblin dwelling only to have it fall apart just because you want to play with it... My son would love to have all the Crystal Dragon sets for his collection, but I think we will steer clear of the bigger sets until Mega Bloks improves the blocks themselves. If your child is a big fan of the characters and the dragons like my son is, I would recomend just buying the small warchests and individual dragons, and passing on the larger and more expensive sets (like the warship and the castle) unless you plan on building them and then just displaying them.

I collect dragons and got this one for my birthday. It's one of my best dragons. It's a great dragon for anyone 10 and older because the castle is a little hard to put together. But once you get it together it stays together pretty good. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes dragons!!!

Mega Bloks Targon Mercury Armor Light Dragon Review

Mega Bloks Targon Mercury Armor Light Dragon
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These dragons look pretty cool (not as cool as one of McFarlanes STATUES, eh, but still...). They each come with 2 helmets. Each helmet activates one of the two LEDs hidden in it's chest so they light up with one of two colors depending on which helmet they use. The reason these dragons get only 2 stars is that they are not very poseable at all and I am all about poseability. The bottom jaws moves up and down a bit. The head pivots on one axis where it connects to the body. The hind legs have two axes of movement where they meet the body (like the shoulders of a 3.75" G.I.Joe). The front legs are the same with an added one axis of movement reverse (bends forward) knee. The wings are on ball joints where they attach to the body, but the shape of the wings and the body prevent you from being able to move them much at all. The tail is completely static. For a construction kit toy, these things should have A LOT more joints.

I really think this is a good toy. I gave it 5 stars for fun because there are many things you can do with it like when you put the stone either on the dragon or the pedistool infront of the stones . The dragons eyes light up and the torches glow. Also a secret compartment opens up. 4 stars for edu because you have to read the instructions. 3 for durability because like any lego like toy it falls apart easaly.

Lego Vikings Set #7021 Double Catapult Versus the Armored Ofnir Dragon Review

Lego Vikings Set #7021 Double Catapult Versus the Armored Ofnir Dragon
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this set for our son this Christmas. He really likes Lego Vikings, so we spent the day assembling the set. It took ~3 hours.
The set comes with an armored dragon, a catapult and three Vikings.
The dragon looks really good, and when you look at it you want to pick it up and play with it. It has two legs, two wings and two short, clawed arms like a T-rex. Parts of the dragon are protected with plate armor, and it also has fire coming out of its mouth. The dragon gas two chains hanging from its neck which I guess means it escaped or is about to be captured. Since the dragon can "fly", the Vikings have their work cut out for them!
The catapult can fire two boulders which crack open after hitting a solid object and then spray "fire" around--actually three translucent pieces. The Vikings are also armed with an axe and some spears. The catapult is less interesting than the dragon but it still looks pretty cool as it is fun to line it up and try to hit the dragon. The range of the boulders is not very far, 3 ft. or less.
Our son had a lot of fun playing with his new set. We also have the Viking ship.
Overall, would have been five stars if the caapult had greater rane, and if the chains didn't fall of the dragon a couple of times.

Mega Bloks: Dragons Irons Raiders - Raiders Keep Review

Mega Bloks: Dragons Irons Raiders - Raiders Keep
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In truth, Raider's Tower really brings nothing new to the Megabloks Dragons line (other than the new faction, the Iron Raiders). All the figures and dragons are repaints, and no new pieces are included, as far as I can see. That said, it still is way better than the newest line, The Metal Ages, whose constructions and pieces are mostly useless for making your own creations, and whose figures come in much smaller amounts per kit (the largest comes with only 6, much less than older kits like Dragair castle). The older kits like the Iron Raiders are simpler, yet they come with many more pieces, more figures, and a whole lot more playability, as you will see in my review.
First of all, the kit comes in a large metal tin, perfect for transporting the pieces elsewhere. When I opened the tin, I was surprised to find many more plastic bags than I had expected to find. Opening all of them took a few minutes, but I soon had all the pieces layed out, and started to build.
As I had expected (I've had other unenjoyable builds with Megabloks kits) the construction process was not nearly as fun as a standard lego kit. It often took a lot of effort to snap the pieces together, and once, I even had to take down part of the assembly to fix a mistake, due to the sometimes unclear instructions. Still, the tower came together without too much hassle, as did everything else in the kit.
Once completed, though, the tower is something to gaze on. The construction and detail of the pieces is excellent, and the tower as a whole is really good looking. I especially like the bridge that leads to the tower and the little details like the torches and dragons heads. The interior is a whole different story, however, as it is virtually non existent. This came as a downer to me, as I had hoped for something more than just a ladder and trapdoor. The good thing is that Megabloks is compatible with Legos, so you can easily create your own interior! (I added a table with food and chairs, a throne, and some weapons racks.)
Dragons are, of course, included, since this is a fairly large kit. A red dragon named Ignistrafe and a monster named Grovel can be found in this kit, both which need assembly. The pieces are, once again, often hard to snap on, but once together, don't break off very easily. The dragon is very detailed, painted in over 6 different colors, as is the monster. They both are great for display, and since they both have features (the dragons wings flap and his claw can pick up minifigures, the monster's jaws snap shut when opened), they are great for playing with as well.
The minifigures are also well detailed, although they have fewer colors than the dragons. The kit comes with 10, 6 Iron Raiders and 4 Draigar warriors, enough to have a good battle with this kit alone. They, however, are simply repaints of Dragair, Norvagen, and Vorgan minifigures, all which came from the previous series, the Krystal wars. Their fingers are also fairly fragile, and 2 of my figures can only hold weapons or shields in one of their hands now. One other thing: while the Iron Raiders came apart easily, the Draigar warriors seem to be glued together, although their joints still move.
The other things included are a catapult, a harpoon launcher of some sort, 2 horses, and a large selection of weapons and shields. The weapons come in all sort of shapes, and clubs, swords, and axes make up most of them.
Now, one of the most important parts of a kit is the pieces, and this kit aces that area! Pieces include basic corner and triangle castle walls, rocks and rock walls, ladders, dragons heads, torches, 2 stone arches, stairs, a few basic bricks, lots of baseplates, and a flag and pole. Everything needed to make a castle, bridge, or some other medieval structure is here, making the kit a great parts and building pack. There is also a crystal, which, when inserted into a holder, lights up and flashes. The effect is neat, and you can also plug it into the red dragon's saddle to have the same thing happen.
The last thing I will be judging this kit on is playability, and even here, the kit does well. You can have great battles with all the things included, and young kids will love the features like the catapult and trap door. Since the kit and figures can also be disassembled, you can simulate battle damage as you play, knocking off walls or torches while playing.
Overall, I think the kit is definitely worth it. I would not recommend it to someone under 6, due to the difficulty of construction, but anyone over that age who loves Legos and Megabloks will love this kit. Even someone who is new to building sets will appreciate the large amount of figures and playability, although I still would recommend a Lego set over this. I leave you with this final thought: I used to consider Megabloks of poor quality, but after buying this kit, I have changed my mind.

Court Jester Review

Court Jester
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Jester character makes his appearance in the 2010 Kingdoms line via this minfigure/miniset. Dressed in the red and white of the Lion Army, he comes with a small stage and three colored "stud" pieces to "juggle". The stage has two flag parts (one red and one gold) that can be attached to pieces from other sets to form full pennants and flags.
The primary draw of this set is the jester minifigure. Previously found in the LEGO Castle Drawbridge Defense Set (7079) where he was one of the most highly sought minifigures, the Kingdoms Jester now has a different color scheme (red and white compared to blue and red). The price of this set (around 4 dollars retail at the time of release in summer 2010) is right for all LEGO fans to own this minifigure.
There isn't a great deal to this set other than the minifigure. The stage is small and contains 15 pieces (22 total with the minifigure and accessories). The primary colors are red and white. The jester does not have a crossbow as he did in the drawbridge defense set.
Overall, I really like the jester figure - therefore, I like this set. I would have preferred a different color scheme for this figure, however (either the powerful red and blue of the previous jester or possibly red and green to represent both factions of the new Kingdoms line). I also would have liked either a larger stage or more interesting accessories (gone is the crossbow from the Drawbridge set). A pet (cat, dog, or bird) to contrast the dragon that the Green Army minifigure has would also have been nice.

LEGO? Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue 7947 Review

LEGO? Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue 7947
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The LEGO Kingdoms Prison Tower Rescue (#7947) is one of the best sets in the new Kingdoms line. It contains a diverse set of building bricks, has an eye-catching design, and a nice selection of minifigures. Initially released at a retail price of 50 dollars in the summer of 2010, it is an excellent deal for such an impressive set.
Prison Tower Rescue is a nice source of new minifigures and accessories. The set contains 5 minifigures and a horse - a Lion Army princess, a Dragon Army soldier, a Lion Army soldier, a Dragon Army knight, and a Lion Army knight. The horse is white and contains the new Lion Army unicorn armor/barding. A treasure chest, two gems, a gold nugget, and a mouse are also included.
The structure itself is a dark-toned woodland fortress for the Dragon Army. The brick colors are primarily black and brown. Green and gold accent pieces including shields and dragon-gargoyles set off the color scheme nicely. Interesting pieces include two windows, a working gate (portcullis), cauldron with flaming "oil" (a nicely done item built from four flames connected to a base), and numerous staircases.
I highly recommend this set for all LEGO enthusiasts. Especially compared to other sets in the 2010 Kingdoms line (that, unlike the earlier Castle line, have almost no fantasy elements such as trolls and dwarfs), the Prison Tower Rescue is an excellent buy.
