Lego 8070 Technic Super Car Review

Not since the Ferrari Enzo 8653 and Ferrari Fiorano 8145 has there been a set as detailed and sophisticated as this, the Supercar 8070. Unlike the previous two, the Supercar is branded as a Technic, not a Ferrari, and this one is motorized. The motor does not move the car, instead it moves the front hood, right and left doors (independently), and extends and retracts the rear spoiler. All this is done with a pretty neat shift knob in the passenger compartment. If you missed your chance to get the previous sets, the Supercar not only continues, but improves on the previous sets.
About the Amazon listing:
Just to reaffirm the previous reviews, buying the Supercar is a rip off from Amazon, even if you consider all of the benefits of buying from Amazon. If you buy from Lego.com, you will have to pay for shipping and taxes. Now, Lego occasionally have free shipping promotions on big orders around 75 to 100 dollar purchases, so you only have to pay for taxes during those periods. As for Amazon, you can't buy directly from Amazon; this is where the problem comes in. If you want free shipping, you have to buy from "Fulfilled by Amazon" merchants, who sell the sets around 150 dollars, 30 dollars more than the MSRP, and if you're unlucky, taxes on top of that. If you buy from the cheapest merchant, you will have to pay for taxes and shipping, which will hover around the 150 dollar mark anyways. So the best solution would be to be patient and wait for Lego to have one of their free shipping promotions to get this set.

Playmobil Roman Soldiers Review

(More customer reviews)My son wanted Roman soldiers for his birthday similar to the "little green soldiers"...couldn't find them anywhere but found these. All three of my boys (ages 6-9) play with these and love them. I don't think they've been "put up" since we got them in September! We bought the ship that goes with them and now of course he wants the arena for Christmas. I've had to brush up on my history just to answer questions about the Roman empire and Roman army. All in all a great toy, they're a bit of a pain because the smaller parts get separated from the soldiers, however all pieces have proven to be very durable.

Mega bloks Dora's Big Backyard Adventures Review

HOT WHEELS Speed Racer Mach 6 and Battle Rig Review

(More customer reviews)When I bought this product, I needed to buy for my 5 yr old nephew for Christmas and it was a screaming deal here on Amazon. I didn't research it at all and nobody had written a review. My concern was this: I hope this is not one of those toys that don't latch and fall apart when the kids try to play with it. The back does open and close 4 ways all latching at the same point (the 2 sides, back and top). I decided to open it and put only the the truck together to see how well it transformed. To my surprise, it latched nicely. I did notice that sometimes you have to push the sides together a second or third time in order for it to latch, but didn't consider it a drawback once I observed my 7 year old (who sucked it in on his tractor beam) "testing it out". I noticed that even when the sides aren't aligned and latched the way intended, it is only open a hair and he was still able to play with it without it once popping open and/or the sides flipping out. Some toys you have to sit and fight to get it to latch in order to play with it without it falling apart or flipping back open. This one is well made. It flips open when prompted and stays closed even when not latched. The only possible frustrating factor in my opinion is that if you hold the truck up vertically, sometimes the weight of the car inside will push the back open and fall out. My son doesn't carry it around that way so it's not a worry here. It does have several parts that are interchangeable from the car to the truck and also blasts missiles, so a younger child may not enjoy it as much as say my 7 year old- who's hands I have yet to pry it from. Which is just as well since I was unable to completely disassemble it in order to put it back in the box. He thinks it is the coolest thing and has played with it using his sound effects for 2 days now.

Mega Bloks Dora's Buildable Boots Treehouse Adventure Review

(More customer reviews)My girls are 2 years old. They're able to stick basic Lego blocks together but they're not quite ready to build the structures, or leave them together, for that matter. They do, however, love to carry around and play with the figures. My four year old son does well at putting the stuctures together when no one is around to destroy them. I'm sure the girls will grow into this.

(More customer reviews)I got this set along with two other Diego Mega Brands sets for my 5 year old for Christmas. All the sets can be used together, and really gives my kids some extra pieces to pretend with. Both my older son and his 2-year-old brother have lots of fun building different animal adventure scenes.
We also got a pack of cheapy, plastic toy wild animals to go along with this...you can find those just about anywhere for just a dollar or two. And with all of the extra animals we added, they really enjoy themselves (...and no fighting over the only jaguar that comes with this set!!!)
Well-made, sturdy toy set that will likely be around for a while.

(More customer reviews)I hope Playmobil does not discontinue this line of toys the Fairy Tales sets! They are getting harder to purchase Playmobil does not sell them on the website anymore.
We have Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel and Snow White and they are excellent pretend toys!
Easy to set up and each containing the story booklet in few european languages it's a great educational toy, the kids get to enact the story, while reading it! If you get adventurous you can try the Spanish or French version, great introduction to foreign languages storytelling.
You get the Playmobil quality toys with the bonus of storytelling how can you go wrong!!!
My kids love them, they make great gifts at reasonable price.
If you are looking for hours of fun without having to deal with silly noises and change of batteries, try one of these!

Mega Bloks Dora's Buildable Playground Adventures Review

(More customer reviews)I got this set for my daughter because she loves to build things and she loves Dora. I had great hopes that she would really enjoy this set. She loved the babies and she loved trying to build the playground, until she could not keep the pieces together. I stepped in to help, and I too had problems trying to keep the blocks together and secure. The square play area that is central to the "playground" kept coming apart. And there aren't all that many pieces to the set, so it has limited options as to how you can construct the playground. After a short while, she became frustrated and bored with the set and has not played with the set since then. She is 3-1/2 years old and is able to put together train sets, Lego's and Lincoln Logs, so it is not for her lack of being able to master the building part of the sets. It's like she is a junior engineer in training. It's just the pieces are not tight fitting and lead to the designs falling apart.
The idea behind the playground is fantastic, because what child doesn't love to be at a playground? But the pieces do not lock together very well, which can lead to a lot of frustration for a child, and they are definitely not as well made as Lego. There are other pieces like the ladder that look like they should attach to something (from looking at the pictures on the box), yet we could not figure out what they attached to, or HOW they attached to something. They did not fit into any of the holes on other pieces.
On the plus side, the slide is very cute, and if you can get it to stay anchored, it is fun to have the babies and Dora slide down it, and the swing is also fun to put the babies in to push them on it. The set does allow your child to be imaginative as they map out play at the park, but if the park does not stay together, it may be a disappointment. We had considered getting the Diego set when we got the Dora set, but decided against it at the time. I will not be getting the Diego set now that I see the blocks don't secure very well, and I am returning the unopened "Cars" sets as well. I am going to go back to Lego, and hope that they come out with Dora or Diego sometime in the future.

We have other blocks that are smaller and skinnier, and my kids can't make towers, which is their favorite thing to do. Plus I don't think the price is bad at all. (More customer reviews)This is a cool little product to own if you're a Harry Potter fan, and it makes an excellent flashlight too.
It looks just like Harry's wand in the movies, only a little bigger, probably so they could shove the electronics inside of it. It takes two AAA batteries. The whole tip of the wand is a bulb for the light, which you can turn on and off by waving it or by tapping it. The light is very bright when turned all the way up. You can adjust the brightness and dimness of the light by pressing and holding a button (which is disguised as part of the wand and not just a button sticking out).
It also comes with a very nice display box to put it in when you're not using it. All in all, it's a cool product to own if you're a Harry Potter fan and want to pratice some spells.

(More customer reviews)My son received this as a gift for his birthday. He enjoys the set, but it is fairly obvious that the quailty of the set does not match Lego. There are minor visible defects on many of the blocks, the blue beast figure's legs do not stay attached, and several of the pieces do not 'snap' together as well as Lego.
That being said, the instructions were easy to follow and my son does like playing with the set.

The detail is great,from the kraken that can make a boat disappear,to the bone cage.There's a collapsing bridge,a collapsing building,a trap door,runaway mill,and a cool magnetic boat race and more.It comes with Jack,Will,Norrington,and the cannibal chief,but no Davy.That was a little disappointing.But anyway its a fun item for all ages.
