R2-D2/C-3PO Droid Collectors Star Wars LEGO Set 65081 Review

I bought this for my son off of the Gold Box special with free shipping. As such, it is a bargain. Not sure I would have paid full pop and shipping. He did well putting it together as an accomplished six year old lego builder but you will need to help younger kids with it.
Well designed and built as all Technic legos are, but in assembled form, the pieces can be fragile. He likes to play with the assembled legos afterward like most kids and these aren't all that great for this. R2D2 does not roll nicely and C3PO can barely stand. At times they will require repairs and for goodness sake don't accidentally step on em. We did just buy the Stormtrooper so that he can "blast" C3PO apart.
All in all a good addition to your Star Wars collection but be aware it is not a greatly playable toy after building.

Despite their humble origins as ordinary astromech and protocol droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO have demonstrated an uncanny knack for getting involved in the affairs of the high and mighty. Consisting of 581 separate parts, including flexible rods and a variety of connector pieces, this droid collector set makes it possible for young Star Wars fans to build their own versions of the two intergalactic explorers. Illustrated, step-by-step instructions for assembly are included, along with a full-color Star Wars 25th anniversary commemorative poster. Younger children may find it difficult to put together all of the set's components and may require the assistance of a parent or older sibling. Please also note that some of the set's smaller pieces may pose a choking hazard to babies or toddlers and should be kept out of their reach. --Chris Burns

Star Wars E3 BF64 DESTROYER DROID Review

Star Wars E3 BF64 DESTROYER DROID
Average Reviews:

In the STAR WARS universe, the Clone Wars is a galactic conflict between the Repulic and the Separationist Forces supported by the major galactic commerce organizations. The Separationist Forces have massed massive droid armies, most of which include some these special, Desroyer Droids. The toy itself isn't the most fun Star Wars figure on the market. However, it's nice to have a variety in one's own toy army and the destroyer droids help spice up a rather dull droid group. Younger fans of the series will probably enjoy this toy more than older ones because young fans haven't been as negative about the films.

LEGO Star Wars B-Wing at Rebel Control Center (7180) Review

I was very surprised by how innovative the B-Wing fighter ship was by Lego. Its cockpit continuously revolves around the ship. The wings can be left folded down for a travel mode or expanded for combat mode. I think this is the best designed Star Wars Lego ship available. The Rebel Control center included is innovative. It includes a sliding door panel and a large display of the Death Star. Not a plus for those who want to buy a squadron of B-Wing fighters, but it still adds to the set.

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon Review

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon

I don't understand the other reviewers. They 'love' this set...but then only give it four stars? Very strange. Make no mistake, it is AWESOME. The box is huge, it has dozens of bags inside with thousands of parts and the bound instruction book itself weighs several pounds. It will take an average person 20 to 30 hours to put together. Probably much more if you are helping a child. Every section is painstakingly accurate and detailed. Once finished it is far too big and heavy to 'play' with, you simply have to admire it from many angles. Even from below it is ridiculously detailed. It is the centerpiece of my guest-room (after spending too long in the living-room, according to my wife) and every time I look at it I want to tear it down and start again, it was so much fun for me...maybe next time I have a week to kill? FIVE STARS!!!!!

LEGO Trade Federation MTT Review

LEGO Trade Federation MTT

I got this toy because I had the old MTT, and I really wanted to expand my battle droid army (this set comes with 20 droids!). The set took several hours to make, and afterward the tips of my fingers were sore. This lego set is very durable, most likely because that's what an MTT should be. The only weak spots are where the doors are. My biggest complaint was that, and I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but I was missing 10 PIECES from the set. I checked the entire room, and I am positive that nothing fell on the floor. Also, it was 10 of the same piece, and I highly doubt that 10 of the same lego piece all fell on the floor.
The missing pieces were brown 2x2x1 slanted pieces. Luckly I did happen to have 10 of them from other boxes of legos, so the problem was easily solved. However, because my pieces were old, the browns don't match up, so It doesn't look as good as it could have.
Great set with 20 droids! But missing many pieces. I still highly suggest it, as long as you have pieces to replace missing ones.
