Star Wars Starfighter Vehicle E3 Ve01 Anakin Skywalker Jedi Starfight Review

Star Wars Starfighter Vehicle E3 Ve01 Anakin Skywalker Jedi Starfight
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This, the last expected episode in the Star Wars saga should certainly bring about a long line of product that might seem never ending. So, it begins with the Sneak Preview line of toys, which to date includes 4 figures, and Anakin's Starfighter
We've seen starfighters before. We've seen x-wings, a-wings, tie fighters and virtually every vehicle and weapon in the Star Wars saga. So, is this Starfighter any different?
The answer to that is, yes, and no. No. It's not a whole lot different. The price is typical of Hasbro's Star Wars line of vehicles this size. There's not a lot different in that it has two firing missles, and the wings open up. The cockpit opens, and allows for an Anakin figure to fit in. A nice novelty is that it comes with a "generic" R2-D2 who's dome spins, and, can be removed and replaced with an actual R2-D2 figure. A really nice touch.
The design itself is rather cool. (Leaves one to wonder where the engine is at, though). But, it's unique design is definately
cool.
Durability? Quality seems similar to previous starfighters. Drop it too hard, and I'm sure something will break. But, not super fragile, either. It's pretty decent heavy duty plastic quality.
Kids who like Star Wars should like this as much as any previous version of starfighters. The fact it comes in a cool box and has a cool design doesnt hurt things.
As is typical with Star Wars products, "Figures not included".
One annoyance, at least to me, is with the decal instructions. The Star Wars vehicles come with a 2 dimensional picture that looks different than the actual product. If one is not looking for a purist's placement, then it will not matter. For those who want the decals placed in the proper place, this might be a bit annoying.
For collectors, I won't swear that this is going to increase in value; however, if I were to guess it, I'd think it should. The reason is, with this being the last episode Lucas plans on making, I do believe we will see the largest line of toys ever.
That said and done, this Sneak Peak starfighter could be of interest to collectors down the line. I say this because I suspect that this packaging won't last too much after the movie is released, and the new line comes out. Therefore, this may be in demand later. At least that's my gamble. And, if not, at least it's a cool looking starfighter.
Bottomline: This is a must have starfighter for collectors and fans alike. It's cool, not overly expensive at $20, and, pretty fun for kids. A definate thumbs up on this one.
SCORE: 95 of 100.

Harry Potter Wizard Chess Review

Harry Potter Wizard Chess
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is not your TYPICAL chess set. True, you can still play chess, but kids & adults alike will love this new game.
When you open the box, you will get a fold-out chess board (very durable). The board has the EXACT same colors as the chess set seen in "Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone". You will also receive two complete set of chess pieces.
Each piece was designed using the SAME sketches Warner Brother employees used to create the life-size pieces in the movie; they are COMPLETELY identical. The pieces are made of a thick-plastic type of material, so they are very hard to damage (but not impossible).
Also included in the box is a set of instructions that have easy-to-read insturctions on how to play chess. They have pictures showing the different ways each piece can move.
Whether you're a chess fan or not, if you LOVE Harry Potter, then you MUST have this chess set; makes a great decoration on any coffee table.

Harry Potter Wand with light and sound Review

Harry Potter Wand with light and sound
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My daughter is a HP fan and really wanted this wand. It is hard to tell much from the photo so I ordered it for her. I should have read the reviews first. It is not very realistic at all and would only appeal to very young children. We didn't have any problems with the batteries as stated in other reviews and it has worked fine, she just lost interest in it almost immediately. A very boring product to say the least. The only reason to buy it would be to use with a child's HP costume. Also, you can't shut it off. If you touch it, it lights up and makes noise. The only way to stop it is to take the batteries out.

Harry Potter Illuminating Wand Review

Harry Potter Illuminating Wand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a cool little product to own if you're a Harry Potter fan, and it makes an excellent flashlight too.
It looks just like Harry's wand in the movies, only a little bigger, probably so they could shove the electronics inside of it. It takes two AAA batteries. The whole tip of the wand is a bulb for the light, which you can turn on and off by waving it or by tapping it. The light is very bright when turned all the way up. You can adjust the brightness and dimness of the light by pressing and holding a button (which is disguised as part of the wand and not just a button sticking out).
It also comes with a very nice display box to put it in when you're not using it. All in all, it's a cool product to own if you're a Harry Potter fan and want to pratice some spells.

LEGO Star Wars Death Star (10188) Review

LEGO Star Wars Death Star (10188)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this for my 8 year old for Christmas - and it was the best Christmas ever! My son loves Lego Star Wars and spends hours and hours entertaining himself with the various sets. He had been dreaming about this Lego set ever since it was presented in the catalog - which he studies regularly.
This is the ULTIMATE Lego Star Wars entertainment weapon of mass satisfaction. Building it took 3 days and occupied every flat surface in our living room / dining room. The best part was that the instructions are set up so that the different rooms / levels are completed one at a time. So we'd build for a while, play for a while, continue building etc. The prison block is very cleverly done. Everyone in the family participated so it was a wonderful shared experience.
Yeah, it's wicked expensive, but I figured it is a once in a life time experience, and this lego set exceeded all expectations. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Though at a certain point, you have to stop building and sort the pieces by color / type or you will lose your mind trying to find all the pieces.
One small complaint - we couldn't find about 8 - 10 pieces. Perhaps 4 were because we used the wrong pieces at the wrong time (based on pieces left over). But there were a few missing pieces which we had to scrounge from our Lego inventory on hand. But all the critical / unique pieces were all there, and anyone taking on this project should have a certain amount of Lego experience prior to making the attempt.

LEGO Star Wars General Grievous Starfighter Review

LEGO Star Wars General Grievous Starfighter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I picked this up along with a Clone Battle Pack and Droids Battle Pack, both of which I've also written reviews on.
This is a nice addition to the Star Wars Ep III sets, which really weren't all too good. This is definetely one of the good sets.
Let's start with Grievous. The body is the same as the other General Grievous from the Grievous Chase LEGO. Battle droid body and legs, but four arms and obviously a different head. The lightsabers are just plain ol' lightsabers. Nothin special about em. There are two different things aboutthis Greivous though. The first difference is that he doesn't come with his cape, which isn't a problem; it actually got in the way of placing him on the wheel-bike in the origonal set. The second difference is that he comes with a blaster. It's a new blaster, differently shaped and better detailed.
The starfighter itself was a little nicer then what I had first expected. It's very easy to construct and light-weight. It also has an interesting sliding cockpit, which if I'm not mistaken, has never been on another LEGO starship before. Theres a small place under the craft to store his lightsabers, which really helps if you have a hard time keeping track of them (I know I do), but no place to put the blaster (not a problem). The laser are slightly movable. There are two small flaws. One of these is that the lightsaber holder can get in the way of holding and placing the ship forboth play and display. It can be taken on and off easily enough. The second is that the landing gear in the back can ocassionally fall off during rough play. This does not happen every time and it can easily be placed back on.
This is a nice deal for only $[...], especially if you need a General Grievous figure. Even if you already have the wheel-bike you should consider getting this anyway; it's a great deal.

LEGO Star Wars Hail-Fire Droid & Spider Droids Review

LEGO Star Wars Hail-Fire Droid and Spider Droids
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This toy is fun when used in a battle. I to not reccomend this toy if you dont have a clone vehicle to battle against. What I do like about it is that it comes with a pack (four) of battle droids. Also it includes a spider droid. This I hated because it is extremely hard to position its legs to stand on the ground. The hail-fire droid on the other hand is capable of firing 8 "flick" missles. Do not expect this toy is a good missle launcher! It can only shoot them 4-6 inches which is not a lot. Do not buy this toy if you expect to let it sit and look at it every once in a while. Buy it if you love to battle star wars vehicles and characters.

This is one of my absolute favorite set of star wars legos, even though the podwalker isn't much of a prominent vehicle in star wars. What makes this set so much
-Lots of rare/interesting parts
-A Lego technic skeleton over which the vehicle is built (which enables some of the unusual angles)
-Incredibly cool-looking legs

Star Wars: Episode 2 > Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) Action Figure Review

Star Wars: Episode 2 > Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) Action Figure
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Nobody has mentioned the coolest thing about this figure! The lightsaber! Not only does the lightsaber have a metal hilt (handle) that interacts with the magnet in Obi-Wan's hand, but it has a detachable beam/blade, so you can pose him with his saber activated or 'sheathed'! It's just too darn cool. The heft of the metal, the detailed paint job... I never realized how much we were missing out with a crummy silver paint job on all of the saber handles that came before. I just can't seem to put the lightsaber down!
The other accessory is an "assassin droid" (or something) with a large hunk of metal on its side that attracts Obi-Wan's hand magnet so he can hang on for the ride seen in Attack of the Clones. The idea of being able to hang Obi-Wan Kenobi from a robot with magnets doesn't seem impressive at all, but I have just as much trouble putting the droid (with Kenobi dangling) down as I do with the lightsaber! I don't usually play with my toys anymore, but I can't help but sit holding my assassin droid with Obi-Wan hanging on for dear life while I watch TV or what have you. I guess you could say it's an action feature with a strange sort of magnetism (ooch!).
And the sculpt, well gee. I was never big on the whole "dynamic pose" thing, but Obi-Wan looks like he's about to take off running on his own, and it just looks great. I don't see much of Ewan McGregor in the head sculpt (honestly he resembles artists' renditions of Jesus Christ more than anyone else), but that doesn't detract from the toy. Obi-Wan is Obi-Wan, even if he does look like the great Christian deity.
I just can't praise this toy enough. Until you hold the thing in your hands, fool around with the metal saber, try and swing Kenobi free from the droid... you just can't understand how neat it is. Just buy it, young or old.

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon Review

LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I don't understand the other reviewers. They 'love' this set...but then only give it four stars? Very strange. Make no mistake, it is AWESOME. The box is huge, it has dozens of bags inside with thousands of parts and the bound instruction book itself weighs several pounds. It will take an average person 20 to 30 hours to put together. Probably much more if you are helping a child. Every section is painstakingly accurate and detailed. Once finished it is far too big and heavy to 'play' with, you simply have to admire it from many angles. Even from below it is ridiculously detailed. It is the centerpiece of my guest-room (after spending too long in the living-room, according to my wife) and every time I look at it I want to tear it down and start again, it was so much fun for me...maybe next time I have a week to kill? FIVE STARS!!!!!

This took all of 5 minutes to put together. Appears reasonably screen accurate, given its small size (2" tall, or thereabouts). Fun little Lego/Star Wars build. A larger version might look better, especially if a mini-fig could be fitted inside.
