LEGO City Off Road Fire Rescue (7942) Review

(More customer reviews)This truck unit comes with several pieces of equipment that should keep a fire-fighting kid happy. It includes a hose, a removable saw and a trailer that can be detached. It reminds me more of a firefighting unit you might see in a rural area, rather than a city. If your child is small, he or she may have trouble attaching some of the small pieces to the trailer, or placing them in the hands of the fireman that comes with this. Overall, it's a great little set.
But beware this unit will probably make your kid want more fire units. The new fire station out this year from Lego is a dandy, and this little unit will only add to the fun.

It had free shipping and its a very durable item. Props to Lego for creating another good set and props to Amazon for getting it to me so quickly and at a great price.

The station includes track, and a passenger for your train. It has a railcart too. The picnic table is nice, and I often put Lego people on it. The map is nice, and the windows that close on the top are great as well. This set can be attached to the track, and it stays on it very well. This is a well-built train station.

Pros:
The 3181 is smaller and easier to play with than the larger Lego Passenger plane.
This plane is large enough to carry mini-figures while still being small enough to be carried by the younger children.
Cons:
The smaller size does not allow as many mini-figures to be carried nor as much cargo as the larger plane.
Overall, my children give this Lego kit very high ratings, making it a welcome addition alongside the Lego Air Mail plane or Lego City Seaplane.

Lego City: Off-Road Fire Truck & Fireboat #7213 Review

(More customer reviews)I am as excited as my son who is now a year younger than the recommended age range (5-12yrs). I helped, well..., (I assembled the fire truck and boat). What a awesome build though clearly for the upper part of the age range. Not because it was hard to build, but it is as fragile as a X'mas ornament. My son was very eager to play with the set, though it came apart frequently and became a search for the small parts. The crane, in particular, is the most fragile part of the whole set. Keep your wits about you if you are one of those dads "helping to build" and have to watch it become wrecked.My fault for shooting high but we recovered the pieces and re assembled the the truck and boat. No worries.The truck is really nice, I wish it could turn independent of the trailer, that is the only other minus. It is a limited edition and is definitely a hit at our home. Play together and enjoy.

LEGO City Fire Truck (7239) Review

The front of it is probably the coolest part, if you take it off and give it to someone they'll know it belongs on a fire truck. It has two firemen, fire tools, a shiny silver helmet (Only available in this set) and it is very durable. There are lots of very useful parts on this fire truck too so if you ever decide to take it apart, you'll have lots of cool new parts.

LEGO City Crawler Crane (7632) Review

(More customer reviews)The LEGO Crawler crane is a must have for any LEGO fan. It has lots of realism, a crank to work the crane, and the tracks move like the real deal. Crane can also inspire young builders on how to build constuction tools and how to counter balance loads in the way they construct models.
Was a fun build, not to easy but not frustrating, I woudl describe as challenging-but-rewarding for the appropriate age group.

Lego City Set #5612 Exclusive Mini Figure Police Officer Review

(More customer reviews)I picked this set up because I wanted the figure and accessories for my police force. This set has one officer with a very detailed torso and a white hat. The only thing that I don't like about the officer is he looks like he is frowning; other then that he is a good figure to have. In addition to the figure, this set comes with a rare dog which has a stud on its back so you can connect different pieces to it. This set also comes with a small equipment rack with a black walkie-talkie and a white hand-held stop sign. In addition, this set also has a speed gun which is very simple but looks good. Well, here are the basics of the set:

Hand-held stop sign (also comes with one extra)

Over all, I highly recommend this set.

The pilot is already in his seat, making last-minute checks and waiting for the ground personnel's direction down the runway. The passengers are in the seats with their bags stowed away. And both exits are shut and secured. Set includes pilot, ground personnel with station and two passenger mini-figures. Also includes a rolling staircase for boarding the plane. (More customer reviews)We bought this set for my six year-old son for Christmas, and it was one of the best purchases we've ever made for him. The directions were a little complex, but I helped him assemble everything (which was fun for me, anyway!); and he played with it non-stop for days. He especially loved the 7 speeds on the train engine, and the fact that it goes forward or backward at all 7 speeds. One warning - the train tends to fly off the track at high speeds, unless you have extra tracks to put in to make the curves less sharp. My son actually loved to make the train fly off, but it tends to break apart a bit when this happens (which is just the nature of Legos, no big deal). All in all, this was his best Christmas gift and I loved watching him play with it.

LEGO? City Fire Station Review

(More customer reviews)What started out as an idea to keep him busy for an hour while I fixed a software installation issue on my computer, ended up being a wonderful family project as we built the LEGO Fire Station together. Life surprises us like that as we struggle to do our best. We think things will end up one way, and oftentimes, unplanned, they end up completely differently, but even better than expected. He got me away from the computer time and again until I finally ditched any thoughts of dinner, called the pizza delivery guy, and set to work to create a new playworld for my son.
My almost six-year-old son took the lead, enthralled by the little pieces and sometimes challenged by the instructions. Nonetheless, he independently worked on the rescue vehicle while my daughter and I tackled the fire truck. At first, ee mumbled under this breath that he wasn't good at building things. Oh yeah? LEGO Fire Station proved he could. It makes me cry to think how much of a boost he got in his confidence by completing such an elaborate building in one day.
My husband put together the station, then we moved it all to the family room for more fun the next day. Admittedly, the fire station requires adult supervision. I was even challenged at times to find all the right pieces. Luckily, the bags are clearly numbered, as well as the instruction booklets. Just be sure to keep them handy in case your child decides to play 'car crash' with the fire truck like ours did!
With other toys that require assembly, my kids seems excited by putting it together, then leave the toy unnoticed thereafter. The LEGO Fire Station has elicited a different reaction. They love the assembly AND playing with it, too. In fact, we had to convince our son to go to a playdate he has been anticipating for months today, simply because he did not want to part with his new toy. I'm certain he's going to want the other LEGO CITY toys, too. As I eye my son's room, I figure we can always have a yard sale or, more drastically, move to a bigger house. After all, there are few toys I can remember more distinctly from my childhood than LEGOs. Can you?
